Pippa 6, is an outgoing, cheerful and intelligent little girl who lives at home with her Mum and older brother Tom in Canterbury. Pippa’s a real girly girl who loves animals, bunny rabbits and dogs in particular. Pippa has Larsen Syndrome (LS), which only affects her physically, she is a wheelchair user and loves driving around in her powered chair. Pippa requires assistance and support to meet all her physical care needs, to access her education and take part in daily tasks and activities.
Pippa is looking for a creative, energetic and fun *female support worker to join her team and provide 1:1 care to enable her to fully access her education and live life as independently as possible. In this role, you’ll assist with Pippa’s educational, social and emotional development, personal care, administer medication, arrange and take part in activities and implement therapies as recommended by Pippa’s treating therapists. During the winter months, Pippa has a home education programme in place as she is vulnerable to chest infections so you’ll have the opportunity to assist with home learning and education.
Overnight Pippa uses her ventilator which helps reduce the number of chest infections she gets. It is essential for the successful candidate to be willing to support the whole family because there will be times that Tom her beloved brother requires some assistance around Pippa’s hospital appointments etc.
This is a fantastic role and a great opportunity to work with a delightful little girl and her extremely warm and welcoming family. This is a hands-on position with lots of scope to learn and gain new skills and to really make a difference to Pippa and Tom’s life. Previous experience working with children with physical disabilities and childcare experience is essential along with a non-smoker, confident swimmer and driver with a full clean license.
If you wish to be considered for this role then please apply today with your updated CV and Jade from Snap will be in touch to discuss the next steps.
*Gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 for a female worker to work with our client.
