Our client George 23, is seeking a new full-time member for his care team, he requires 2:1 support. George has severe uncontrolled epilepsy resulting in primarily absence seizures every few minutes during the day and up to 5 convulsive seizures at night. It is rare for George to require emergency medication however administering buccal medication may be necessary. Training is provided and experience supporting a client with epilepsy is not essential but desirable.

George enjoys getting out and about and has a long lists of hobbies which include riding his trike, walking, swimming and bowling. He is an active person and loves trips to London, visiting National Trust properties and wildlife parks. This position will involve supporting and facilitating George to take part in his favourite activities and also assisting with behavioural management, personal care when required and administering medication. George can get frustrated and present with challenging behaviour and you’ll be shown techniques and strategies to help calm him down.

This job will suit a patient, caring, kind but firm support worker. It is essential to have an ‘anything is possible’ attitude and really enjoy working with young adults with additional needs.
