Noah (10) is a lively, energetic boy. He has Dravet syndrome which presents with multiple seizures and developmental delay causing difficulties with language and motor skills. Noah is also autistic and has a tube in place mainly for his medication. Noah requires regular morning and evening medicine and occasionally requires emergency medication to resolve his seizures.
Your role as waking night support worker / carer will be to monitor Noah throughout the night for seizures and wakefulness. Noah is awake a lot during the night, so he will require gentle comforting to help him get back to sleep.
This job will suit someone who has worked within a small hometeam set up and who is adaptable to working both nights and days. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with a background in Psychology, SEN or OT.
This is a fantastic opportunity for flexible, energetic and confident Support Worker with a sincere interest in working with a child with such diverse needs as Noah.
