Wage: £28,860 gross per annum, £15.00 gross per hour weekday, £17.00 gross per hour weekend 
Driver required? Essential
Use of a car? On duty 
Essential: Supporting a child with Cerebral palsy, epilepsy, PEG feeding
Start Date: ASAP 
Days & Hours:Term time: Monday – Friday 7.30am – 10.00am and 2.30pm – 6.00pm School holidays: Monday – Friday 10.00am – 6.00pm

About this client/child:
David is a smiley young man who responds well to sociable and engaging people and gentle and creative interaction. David enjoys playing with his toys and having cuddles with his parents. David has dystonic bilateral cerebral palsy resulting in developmental delay and dysphasia.  David has a severe epilepsy and requires daily and occasionally emergency mediation. He is non-verbal and is fully dependent on others for all his personal care and mobilisation. David is fed mainly by gastrostomy but can take a small amount of food orally. 


Overview of role:
You’ll be responsible for supporting David through personal care routines, any required therapy exercises, accompanying him out with his family and engage him with fun activities. David’s parents haven’t had assistance before and are understandably feeling nervous about this, so the family need a trusting and empathetic support worker who can work alongside them and support them.

This job will suit an experienced, caring and kind person who enjoys working within a family home and providing 1:1 support. It is essential that you have good epilepsy and medical experience to best support David’s needs.
