Andrew is an affectionate and comical 4 year old. He attends nursery part-time and is very happy there. He enjoys scooting, going to the park, attending Playball class, sensory rooms, soft play, going on a train or bus and generally being out and about. He has recently become a big brother to his gorgeous baby sister.
Andrew currently has a working diagnosis of autism which will be reassessed in 2018. He is a very sociable young boy, but has some developmental delays; making it hard to engage him in play or transition from one thing to another, for example leaving a playground. His speech is coming along very well and with the right support and strategies he will flourish. There is quite a way to go with toilet training so someone confident in this area is important.
Mum is very hand-on and requires a SEN Nanny who can work alongside her, as well as taking sole charge. The role will involve taking Andrew to nursery, assisting mum with baby as well as some light housework (ironing or shopping) while he is at nursery and arranging structured but fun activities for Andrew either out and about, during play dates or at home.
This family are looking for someone who is reliable, patient, kind and fun. You must have previous experience dealing with children of similar age on the autism spectrum and have lots experience with toilet training.
This a great opportunity to support an extremely down to earth and warm family who are looking for additional support and guidance in helping their son develop further.
