Nearest Train Station: East Putney
Wage / Salary: £27,664.00 gross per annum
Driver required? Preferable
Use of a car? On duty
Essential Experience: Passionate about working with children, non-smoker is essential
Desired Experience: Makaton and Epilepsy
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Monday and Tuesday 8.00am to 11.00am and then 4.00pm to 7.00pm. Wednesday to Friday 9.00am to 7.00pm (38 hour working; additional 2 hour break on Wednesdays and Thursdays).

Amy is a happy and active 9-year-old who enjoys playing her accordion and playing on her trampoline. She is the eldest of 3 children and is a very determined, energetic and mobile girl. Amy has cerebral palsy which has led to social and communication difficulties. She communicates using Makaton and her day to day routine is supported with a sensory diet. She is highly motivated by music so this is integrated into her routine.

Amy has made astounding progress over the past two years which has been closely linked to her intensive home schooled programme. She is home schooled 3 days a week led by a team of therapists and the other 2 days she attends school. Part of your role will involve working alongside therapists and continuing to implement the strategies once the session has been completed.

This job will suit somebody who is energetic, fun and has a natural approach with children. You will be encouraged to become part of the family and your support will be really valued. Ideally the family would like the nanny to go away with them on trips and holidays abroad, so flexibility to do this would be ideal. (The job can also be split into two part time roles: Monday, Tuesday & Saturday OR Wednesday, Thursday & Friday so please enquire).

This is a great opportunity for someone to further their own knowledge and work closely with an array of therapists. In doing so you will help Amy continue to flourish and work towards her next learning goals.
