A fantastic position is now available to join Amy’s care team on a part-time basis. Amy is soon to be 13 years old and is an exceptional young person with great determination. A big personality with an even bigger smile, Amy has a zest for life and loves a good party and days out at Chessington World of Adventures!  Amy has mild cerebral palsy, epilepsy and a profound learning difficulty. She is physically able but requires support with mobility, balance and co-ordination. Amy strives to be independent, so requires close monitoring at all times.

A typical afterschool day shift (2.45pm – 7.45pm) includes collecting Amy from school (walking distance from her home), assisting Amy at therapy appointments (music or OT), encouraging independence through play, help with meal times and her bedtime routine.

A typical night shift consists of three phases:

  • 10.00pm-12.00midnight: monitoring Amy via CCTV while she is sleeping and carrying out light housekeeping tasks in Amy’s annex.
  • 12.00midnight - 6.00am: a time when you will be able to sleep whilst monitoring Amy via her CCTV and tending to her if she requires assistance.
  • 6.00am – 8.00am: The morning routine including physio stretches, personal care, dressing, administering medication and eating breakfast – then mum takes Amy off to school!

** There is some flexibility in days worked for the right candidate.  Additional hours are available in this care package covering other team members’ annual leave, weekends and during school holidays.

Amy is looking for a positive, energetic and caring support worker with a great sense of humour to join her team. If you would like to be considered for this exciting position, please apply today and Snap will forward your CV directly to Amy and her family for their consideration.
