Hayles 24 is an intelligent, creative and quirky young woman with a brilliant sense of humour! When she was 11 years old she had a heart procedure and suffered a stroke resulting in a brain injury. Hayles has come a long way however she still finds some day to day tasks difficult.
As a result of her brain injury, Hayles suffers with fatigue, short-term memory difficulties, anxiety, frustration and mood swings. She can also have intense migraines that can last for several days.
Hayles is living independently and has occasional support at night. Monday to Friday she has lots of free time and is keen to work alongside her support on therapy goals, work experience, interests and hobbies, education and in general just getting out and about more often.
Hayles is very creative and arty, when it comes to crafting she is very talented (although she won’t admit it!). Other interests include science, photography, gaming and last, but not least, animals. Hayles has a pet hamster she calls Monster Munch! We are looking for a candidate who has similar interests and can connect with Hayles through mutual interests and hobbies. Hayles presents very well and her difficulties are subtle, so you will need to be intuitive and sensitive.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with an amazing young woman who has great potential. You will have excellent support and supervision from her case manager and psychologist who know Hayles very well. Please speak with Jade at Snap who has lots more information.
