Hilary is an engaging woman who has an acquired brain injury (ABI) following encephalitis and as a result has cognitive and memory difficulties. She also suffers from absent seizures. Hilary can communicate relatively fluently and is independent in many areas, including her personal care. Hilary requires a support worker to help with her daily routine and accompany her to social engagements.
We are looking for a thoughtful and compassionate support worker who can work on a bank contract, covering planned and unplanned leave. You’ll support Hilary with her daily activities which may include appointments or engaging in some of her favourite activities such as National Trust visits, music in the park, cinema and shopping!
This role is an ideal opportunity for a kind and caring woman living in the area who is either new to this type of work and interested to learn new skills, or someone who is looking to ‘keep their hand in’. You’ll need a degree of flexibility to potentially be available at short notice. Shifts will vary from a few hours to 12 to 24-hour shifts including sleeping nights. Great opportunity to work with a charming woman and enable her to continue the brilliant progress that she has made with her rehabilitation. Training can be provided and you will have excellent support from the case manager and Hilary’s team.
