Katie aged 7 is described by her mummy as a ‘Duracell bunny’ as she is always on the go! She loves swimming, sensory toys, being read stories of which her favourite at the moment is David Walliams and she loves to watch her mum iron – she even has her own pretend iron! Katie has Cerebral Palsy and requires support with all of her care needs although she tries her best to be independent.

Katie has a full team of therapists who support her in all activities of daily living.  She is a very motivated young lady who sometimes gets frustrated when she isn’t able to do something or isn’t understood.  With this in mind, there are times when the behaviour that she displays is quite difficult, which is why you will be fully supported within the role under the guidance of her therapy team.

Your role will be enabling Katie to be more independent, give her the freedom of choice and to ensure she is able to express her feelings as easily as possible, always ensuring that you provide the highest quality of care, which includes personal care.

*We are looking for a team of people to support Katie as follows: before and after school, 06.00 am to 08.00 am or 09.00 am and 2.30 pm to 7.00 pm, at weekends and during the school holidays, 8.00 am to 7.00 pm, these hours can be divided. Also waking night staff from 10.00 pm to 8.00 am or 09.00 am.

This job will suit someone who is energetic, committed, approachable, fun and creative and has an outgoing personality.
