Anna, 8 is adorable and very active little girl who enjoys walks, riding on bicycle, swimming, playing in her garden playhouse and in the playground. Anna has Phelan McDermid Syndrome, a rare chromosome syndrome. She is non-verbal but can clearly express her likes and dislikes; she is using PECS and other tools to communicate. Anna can feed herself but requires assistance so she doesn’t put too much food in her mouth or drink too fast. She used to have issues with her swallowing so the family ensure her food is cut into small pieces and she drinks no more than two sips at a time.
Mum and dad work from home occasionally, you need to be a team player and be comfortable to work alongside them and their nanny/au pair. Anna’s cute little sister who’s 5, likes to help and you will be engaging with her and include her in the play. This is a very busy household but it is a fun, loving environment with a good support network of neighbours and family. Your role will be to assist with after school routine, engage with Anna, support her with personal care, research new activities, be creative and have fun together.
We are looking for an active, engaging, kind and motivated *female SEN Nanny who is keen to learn and encourage independence, someone who has genuine interest in working with children with additional needs, ideally with previous experience working at specialist schools.
*Gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 for a female worker to work with our client.
Please note, whilst Snap endeavour to reply to all applications, some of our positions are so popular this is not possible and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
