£15.00 gross per hour. Pro-active, positive and energetic nanny required to support the fabulous Sarah

Title: *Female Part Time SEN Nanny | Tooting, SW17
Location: Tooting, SW17
Nearest Tube Station: Tooting Bec
Wage / Salary: £15.00 gross per hour
Driver required? Not Required
Essential: Childcare and SEN experience and must be confident dealing with challenging behaviour.
Desired: Previous nanny experience
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Monday to Thursday 3.00 pm to 7.00 pm OR 4.00 pm to 7.00 pm (Additional hours in the school holidays can be made available)
Pets: The family have two cats

Sarah aged 12 loves colouring, playing ball, music, cooking and painting. She has a rare genetic condition and is a wheelchair user and is non-verbal. Sarah needs assistance with feeding and her personal care.  She understands basic conversation and can respond to questions.  She loves being with people and is very sociable, however, she can become quite anxious in unknown situations or when she doesn’t understand what is going on. Sarah can do assisted stepping between chairs or the floor and can sit on her own.

The house has been fitted with a lift and adapted bath to make moving and washing easier. As new experiences can be daunting for Sarah, making her aware of plans and repeating them to her will help prevent her becoming distressed or frustrated.  A calm, patient and understanding approach is most beneficial.

*The family can offer flexibility on the hours for the right candidate and there is also the opportunity for additional weekend hours so please enquire. Please note that a 3.00 pm start will involve additional household duties and some errands for the family.

This role will suit a nanny who can help Sarah engage with her surroundings and support her social and learning development. It is also important to be emotionally resilient and be confident in dealing with challenging behaviour.

*Gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 for a female worker to work with our client.
