Location: Nr Bury St Edmunds CB8

Wage: £18 - £20 gross per hour

Essential Experience: working with age group 9-15, challenging behaviour
Start Date: January 2018
Days & Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 17:00 – 21:00,  Saturday 09:00-13:00, additional hours available during school holidays and in the evenings and 2/3 times a year 4 days live in while parents are away.

This private family are looking for a family support worker focused on behavioural management  with numeracy and literacy skills, to work with their two children aged 10 and 14. The ideal candidate will be positive and patient and have experience working with children with challenging behaviour within a private setting.  A background in youth work and working with foster or adoptive families would be beneficial.
You will be skilled in establishing boundaries and encouraging positive behaviour in the children, for example encouraging them to do their chores and take care of their own belongings. Key to this position will be the ability to unlock the children’s potential and promote their independence.
 
Duties will include organising and accompanying the children to extra-curricular activities and helping with homework. The support worker will liaise with other professionals who work with the children and also take sole charge for long weekends two to three times a year when the parents are away.
 
This exciting position will suit a compassionate, spirited and experienced candidate who will guide these lovely children through their teenage years. This is a great opportunity to work with a loving family to unlock the children’s potential and really promote their independence.
