£25,350.00+ gross per annum | Compassionate, professional *female Carer / Personal Assistant join teenager Julie’s small team

Wage: £25,350.00+ gross per annum (£13.00 weekdays, £15.00 weekends and nights gross per hour), £12.00 gross per hour during the initial 6 weeks training period

Essential: Supporting young people with complex care
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Full time (37.5 hours) Long shift patterns (8am - 9pm) with occasional 3-6 hour shifts. Rota provided 1 month in advance.


Julie is a delightful young lady aged 16. Julie has a spinal injury, is a wheelchair user and requires support with daily living activities including personal care, using of hoist for all transfers, food preparation, daily household chores and laundry: washing/ironing.  She is ventilator dependent, so requires 24-hour adult support. Julie can communicate well regarding what she wants to do on daily basis.

This role will involve supporting Julie 1:1 with her day or night time routines; ensuring her safety and providing a high standard of care and support. Acting as Julie’s Personal Assistant, you will accompany her to college, shopping, social activities, appointments, church, potentially on holiday abroad, to support her to live as independently as possible and fulfil her chosen lifestyle. You will be part of a small care team supported by Specialist Nurse.  You should be of flexible in such a degree to occasionally cover colleague’s shifts will be appreciated and ensure Julie’s care needs are met.

This job will suit confident and experienced support worker / PA who has a genuine passion, reliable and commitment to support a young person with additional needs. Someone with great communication skills and a calm and caring manner will really fit in well with this lovely family.
