£20.00 Gross per Hour. Experienced Support Worker required for a unique opportunity to provide assistance, support, guidance, and parenting skills to a Mum with a physical disability, hearing impairment and learning disability. 

 

 

 

 

 

Title: Support Worker
Location: Ewell KT12
Nearest Train Station: West Ewell
Wage / Salary: £831.67 gross per working week | £20.00 Gross per hour and £73.89 gross per sleeping night. (9.30pm – 6.30am) If disturbed at any time during the night it will revert to £20.00 gross per hour.
Driver required? Not essential but desirable
Use of a car? Will need own car, mileage paid (40 pence per mile) when used on duty
Essential: Experience working with and supporting a client with learning disabilities and mental health needs, childcare experience
Desirable: NVQ or higher education, teaching parenting skills.
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Every other week: Tuesday 5.00pm to Wednesday 8:30am & then Friday 5.00pm to Sunday 11:00am (includes sleeping nights).
Family Pets: Cat
Accommodation: Own room with shared bathroom while working

Fantastic position is available to support Mary, 41, to care for her two and a half year old daughter Anna. Mary is a double below knee amputee. She has a hearing impairment, learning disabilities, personality disorder and depression. Her daughter is a bundle of fun and joy who is currently staying with a privately employed Nanny; Mary enjoys supervised access to Anna. She now requires additional support on alternate weekends and alternate Tuesday nights. This will enable Mary to care for Anna safely in her own home during these times.

Mary is very independent and doesn’t require support with her own care, however, she needs an additional team member to provide full supervision and parenting advice whilst she is caring for her daughter. You will facilitate and enable Mary to care safely for Anna. You will guide, teach and support her through all her parental duties and responsibilities, offer advice and build up her skill set so Mary is confident in her ability to provide Ann with the care she requires, both physically and emotionally. 

This position will suit a Support Worker with experience supporting clients with learning disabilities as well as experience in childcare. You must be patient, kind, energetic and have a great sense of humour with a strong personality in order for Mary to understand and learn how best to care for her daughter consistently. We are especially keen to hear from you if you have experience in a similar role.
