Days & Hours: Guaranteed 18.5 hours per week. (One 12-hour shift + 6.5 admin hours)

About this client:
Tom, 41, is an active, friendly and sociable man who loves family life. He enjoys playing on the PlayStation, fishing, going to the gym, cinema and listening to music. Tom is a Veteran, having served in the Armed Forces for nearly 20 years, this is a big part of his life. Due to Tom's Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), he experiences profound neurological, communication and mobility difficulties. He also has epilepsy. All of this affects his daily living skills, general performance day to day and his social integration. Tom will require assistance with his personal care.
Overview of role:
The Team Leader will have the opportunity to work directly with Tom, helping him manage aspects of his daily life, both at home and in the community. You will be focused on maximising Tom’s independence and wellbeing by providing companionship, encouragement and advice. Overall, helping to enhance Tom’s quality of life and aid him in achieving his goals.
As Team Leader you will be responsible for managing a small care team providing daily support to Tom in his family home.
Duties include carrying out supervisions, arranging training, managing the Rota, payroll, timesheets, and sickness. Liaising with professionals and arranging appointments. The Team Leader will be guaranteed 18.5 hours per week, this is one full 12-hour shift (7.30 am to 7.30 pm) and 6.5 hours of admin support per week. Tom requires full support Monday to Sunday; the rota is provided 1 month in advance. There is the potential for additional shifts and cover, including overnight sleeping nights, this will be mutually agreed.
Who this job would suit:
A highly organised, efficient, and dedicated Team Leader with excellent communication skills and a good sense of humour. For this role it is essential that you are a confident driver, candidates with their car would be preferrable due to the location of the client’s house. The car to use on duty is an automatic, adapted vehicle. Tom lives with his young child, so experience of being around young children is preferable.
