Wage: £16.00 Weekdays | £17.00 Weekends | Gross per Hour
Driver required? Yes, essential
Use of a car? Will need own car to use on duty, mileage covered and business insurance if required
Essential: Experience supporting a client with autism spectrum condition and anxiety disorder
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Weekdays: 2 x 4 hour shifts, plus one Sunday per month for 6 hours, and one Friday or Saturday evening per month for 8 hours. Days of work are flexible.
Family/Client Pets: Yes, family dog

About this client/child:
Our client Dylan is 20 years old; he is a cheerful, polite and charming young man living at home in Bexley with his Mum, Dad and younger brother.  Dylan has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition and Anxiety Disorder. He enjoys getting out and about, shopping, walking and going to the gym. This role is to support Dylan 1:1 however it is important to mention his younger brother also has Autism Spectrum Condition, both siblings present with different traits.

Overview of role:
Dylan requires support, encouragement, and motivation to become more active in the community, participate in activities he enjoys and to explore new interests and hobbies. Over time, as Dylan’s confidence grows, the role may well develop, and the hours gradually increase to potentially support Dylan to attend a course or voluntary work placement. At the moment Dylan and his family are flexible with the weekday shifts as they are keen to find the right person for this dynamic role.

Who this job would suit:
A calm, friendly and positive support worker / PA with previous experience supporting a young adult with Autism, Spectrum Condition. Previous experience in a mentoring role, building life skills and independence would be a desirable however most important for Dylan is having someone he enjoys spending time with and shares similar interest with.
