About this client/child:
Tom 12, is a sociable and active young man who just started a secondary school. Tom requires support for all his needs but enjoys making stories, being outdoors and having fun. Tom is non verbal but is keen to interact and share his interests and uses an eyegaze computer. He is a good sleeper but can get stuck during the night and can't pull/put covers on if needed. Tom is on a blended diet given via PEG as well as water/ feed by pump. 
Tom has cerebral palsy, epilepsy and is a wheelchair user. He is on a blended diet which is administered via a PEG. 

Overview of role:
As the On-Call Night Carer, you will support Tom through his night-time routine, help get his school bag ready each day and help him to get up and ready for school in the morning. You’ll be able to sleep during your shift however you will need to assist Tom reposition should he get stuck and for temperature control. If he is not well he may need additional care through the night and this may require an awake night. Definitions of awake and on-call will be provided on request. General duties include assisting with his personal care, administering his medication, preparing food and bags in the morning, giving him breakfast and getting ready for school. £101.00 gross per weekday shift,  Friday £105.00;  Saturday £110.00 and Sunday £114.00 gross per weekend shift. The hours of the shifts are 10.00pm to 8.00am during school term, 10.00pm to 9.00am on holidays or weekends.
