About this client/child:
Robert, 18, is a happy and affectionate young man. He loves running in open spaces, swimming, horse riding and other physical activities. He also enjoys playing board games. Robert is autistic, has processing sensory disorder and epilepsy. Roberts is non-verbal and communicates with gestures and cards. He requires assistance with all aspects of personal care, daily activities and social skills. 

Overview of role:
In this role as Teaching Assistant, you will support Robert with his home education program, assist him to access as much learning as possible and achieve, where possible, age- appropriate targets. You will use your initiative to develop, adapt and implement a specific learning programme for Robert’s learning needs and implement techniques from his therapists and family. You will be creative and have the ability to think outside the box when it comes to teaching. You will need to be fit, strong and vigilant to ensure Robert’s safety at all times, especially when outside. 30+ hours per week, opportunity to work overtime.  The rota is based on 3 weeks, incorporating midweek shifts and weekend shifts. Within each three weeks there will be a full working weekend, a one day weekend and a full weekend off. Shifts are split into following times8.00am to 2.30pm and 2.00pm to 7.30pm. The hourly rate is £12.00 - £15.00 gross per hour depending on experience. This is a all year round role, not a term time only.
