Title: SEN Nanny / ABA Tutor
Location: Bromley, BR1
Nearest Train Station: Bromley North or Sundridge Park Station (7 minute walk)
Wage / Salary: £31,688 to £36,036 gross per annum depending on experience (Based on 42 hours)
Driver required? Essential
Use of a car? On duty, automatic
Essential: Autism experience
Desirable: Experience or knowledge of ABA
Start Date: 24th June 2019
Days & Hours: Monday to Thursday 7.30 am to 6.00 pm (The family would also consider 3 or 3 1/2 days)

Marty is a happy go lucky, loving and adventurous 6 year old boy. He has a real passion for trains which you will see from his extensive collection and he loves playing games and being read to. His 11 year old brother Dillan is a real chatterbox, a wannabe footballer, a chef in the making and still young at heart. Both boys love spending time outdoors and have a really strong bond. Marty is autistic, has delayed language and has particular difficulties around wanting control and rigidity. He also has Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder so the family are slowly introducing new foods.

Marty attends a mainstream school where he receives 1:1 support, he currently finishes at 1.30pm in the afternoon. The nanny will be involved in both their morning routines (Dillan is very self-sufficient), taking and collecting Marty from school, preparing dinner and supporting with Marty and Dillan’s homework. The family also run a home based ABA programme for Marty and have seen huge improvements in his general behaviour, emotions and speech. Whilst the boys are at school this a great time to catch up on some ABA admin, such as organising resources, laminating and researching new material. In addition to this there will be some light household duties to fill the time. In the afternoons, the Nanny will deliver an ABA session and/or accompany Marty to an activity or club

The family are looking for someone who is organised, willing to learn, punctual, pro-active, patient and above everything else, kind. Previous ABA background would be preferable, but really this job is all about the right person. They do require all candidates to be OFSTED registered or someone who is willing to go through this process (all costs will be covered by the family).

On alternate Tuesdays there is a three hour meeting which is attended by mum, Marty’s LSA, SEN Nanny and the lead ABA consultant. This is a great time to discuss what Marty is working on, how he is getting on with his programmes and any difficulties that may have arisen. There is a great opportunity with this role to receive ABA training and make a real difference to the whole family. There will be a handover from the departing Nanny to learn more about the boys routines.
