About this client/child: Molly, 4, is a sweet and active little girl, who knows her own mind and is thriving. In September Molly is starting school (local mainstream setting), and is very excited, although will face some challenges with the transition and new routine. Molly has a Brain Injury, sustained at birth and as a result presents with a development delay and sensory processing disorder (SPD). She is working hard on her communication, has recently started using sentence. Her physio is focusing on her gross motor skills; and her OT has implemented a Sensory Diet; she is making progress every week! Molly can become overwhelmed in different settings, has no awareness of danger, and at times is sensory seeking, she can tire easily and finds it difficult at times to stay on task or concentrate. Despite these challenges, Molly is fiercely determined and has a long list of interests including wall climbing, swimming, playing outside and sensory walks, tabletop games and drawing!

Overview of role: During term-time you’ll support Molly with her morning and afterschool routine. Typical duties include school drop off and pick up, preparing meals, planning play dates, extra-curricular activities, bath-time and bedtime routine, light nursery and household chores. The SEN Nanny is an integral part of Molly’s support team and will work in collaboration with her parents, school, therapy and case management team. You’ll implement her therapy programme, supporting Molly to reach her targets and goals and continually promoting her independence. During school holidays there is a lot more scope to plan day trips and activities. It is essential you are driver, and available to travel with the family on holidays, and provide babysitting once per month (paid in addition to your salary). The time during the day whilst Molly is at school is your own, you can use this time for study, going to the gym, or running errands etc., if Molly does not attend school for any reason, the day will be a typical 12-hour shift, and you will be paid for any additional hours worked or offered time off in lieu.

Who this job would suit: An energetic, calm and fun but firm *female SEN professional with excellent experience within early years development. Molly requires an SEN Nanny who is enthusiastic, patient and loves to play! You do not need to come into this role with Nanny experience, however, you must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience supporting children with SEN.

What’s great about this job: Working with Molly, of course! She is pure joy; each day she will make you laugh. Molly has huge potential and you can make a big difference in her life. Excellent training, ongoing support and supervision, along with competitive payrates and working in a welcoming and professional environment.
