Ethen is an energetic and fun little boy who has recently turned 3. He has just become a big brother to a baby sister so is still adjusting to this change. Ethen loves being on the go and especially enjoys spending time at the park and soft play areas. Ethen is developmentally delayed and has speech and language difficulties; he can say some very basic words and this will be a big focus moving forward. He currently makes most of his needs known by directing you to what he wants. Ethen has just started toilet training so he will need to be prompted with this.
This is a varied role with a mix of nannying, 1:1 school support and therapy intervention. During term-time you will take Ethan to school (hours are 8.30am to 12.30pm) and remain there with him as his 1:1 learning support. This will involve breaking down instructions, supporting him with daily activities and some degree of behaviour management. After school you will head home with Ethan and depending on the day, there will either be therapy support, activities taking place outside of the house or creating your own fun with him at home and supporting Ethan with his meals.
This job will suit someone with excellent experience, high energy, someone who is lots of fun and can keep Ethan appropriately stimulated and engaged. It goes without saying but you must be extremely patient and confident to manage occasional tantrums. Part of your role will be working alongside teachers and therapists so you must be able to liaise confidently with other professionals.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a role where there is a lot of variety whilst also supporting Ethan with his continued development. The family travel to Dubai quite regularly so the nanny will also have the opportunity to accompany them too, all expenses paid.
