Driver required? Preferable

Essential: Autism, behavior management and confident with 10 + year olds

Ronnie and Tom are twins, 10 years old. The boys are bright, intelligent, both verbal and love to be kept busy with an engaging and structured routine. Both boys are autistic.

Ronnie loves to be outdoors, he regularly goes on long walks, and he loves to get out to the playground and have fun. Tom is bright and engaging, a huge Disney fan – he loves animals, jigsaws and books. Both boys currently attend a mainstream primary school with full time 1:1 support. They have followed a VB (Verbal Behaviour) school & home programme since they were very young. The boys also have a part time nanny working three days a week - and this existing team can always help with support and integration for new people. The boys are doing well with their therapies, but as with all children, there can be challenging behaviour, and a calm, compassionate and consistent approach is the best way to support the boys.

Both boys thrive when busy, so a structured, organised and engaging routine really helps them to enjoy their time at home.  Swimming, trips to the park and special days out to Chessington World of Adventures are all favourites. Their new Nanny / Manny will be proactive and confident when organising engaging and constructive days out. The boys are delighted to use London’s public transport to get around.

This role is ideal for someone with autism experience who is confident working with a similar age group. A knowledge of VB Therapy would also be helpful, but not essential. There is a fantastic support structure offered to the boys’ new Nanny / Manny. Ideas are swapped and strategies and routines are in place which can be explained by those who have tried and tested them!

For the right candidate there could potentially be more hours during the weekend & week. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to join a well-established team, with potential prospects for the future. For more information speak to Rachael who has met with this welcoming family and placed their original nanny several years ago.
