This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established and experienced team supporting a happy and sweet 7 year old with bags of personality. Jack has an excellent team in place who provide round the clock support. We would like to recruit a committed, reliable and flexible carer.
Jack has cerebral palsy and learning difficulties, he requires support to meet all of his care needs. Jack is a charming and engaging child who enjoys playing with his sensory toys. Jack is a wheelchair user and requires support with personal care, mobility and communication. He has a feeding tube in situ through which he receives his medication and nutrition. Jack also enjoys pureed food.
Throughout your night shift you will observe Jack, tending to all his needs as required. General duties include repositioning, administering medication, following his care plan and ironing his clothes.
During day time shifts your duties will include implementing his therapy guidelines, feeding and interacting with Jack, attending to his personal care needs and supporting him to enjoy leisure activities including trips out in the community. You will receive full training from all of his appointed therapists.
Jack requires a carer who he can rely on to provide consistent reliable care. This position will be suitable for someone who is able to commit to the hours specified and to cover additional hours at short notice. Flexibility is a key feature of this role as Jack’s family are looking for someone they can rely on to adapt their working pattern to Jack’s needs.
