Wage: £14.00 gross per hour weekdays, £16.00 gross per hour weekends
Driver required? Essential
Use of a car? On duty
Essential:Supporting children with cerebral palsy or complex medical needs, satisfactory DBS and references
Start Date: ASAP 
Days & Hours: Occasional weekday and weekends shifts, rota to be advised on a monthly basis

About this client/child:
Mark 10, is a sparky and charming boy. He loves to be kept busy enjoying going to the library and farms, going up and down in lifts and travelling on the a bus. Of course, Covid19 has prevented him from taking part in some of his favourite activities so he and his team are having to be creative about what he can do instead.  Bouncing on the trampoline and playing on a swing though are his most favourite activities! Mark has dystonic cerebral palsy which causes involuntary movements in all four limbs. He can take food orally but requires support to ensure he doesn’t choke or aspirate. Additional fluids and medications are administered via PEG. Mark is non-verbal, he is using a range of devices and aids to communicate. He can express yes and no clearly.

Overview of role:
Your role will be to support Mark with his daily routine, providing personal care, assisting with meals and bathtime and organising fun activities and outings.  You will implement programmes from a variety of therapists, including physio, speech and occupational, in a fun, creative and playful way.   

Who this job would suit:
This job will suit an energetic, caring and kind support worker with strong communication skills who enjoys working within a family home and providing 1:1 support.
