About this client/child:
Isla (4) is a charming little girl who enjoys listening to music, sensory stimulations and lots of cuddles. Isla has severe cerebral palsy, which affects all her body, dystonia, epilepsy, other complex medical needs and is registered blind. She can distinguish between light and dark and has recently started wearing glasses to help her fix and follow. Isla has a pureed food diet and takes all her food and fluids orally. She requires assistance with all aspects of her routine and care needs.
Overview of role:
You will provide 2:1 care and will be responsible for supporting Isla by providing personal care, following recommended therapy techniques, monitoring her health and administering her medication. You need to be patient, kind and engage Isla in stimulating activities she enjoys. Isla requires supervision and monitoring at all times.
