Title: Full Time SEN Nanny & 1:1 School Support
Location: Archway, N19
Nearest Tube Station: Archway
Wage / Salary: £35,360.00 gross per annum
Driver required? Essential
Use of a car? On duty, automatic
Essential: Autism experience, must have worked closely with children and be a confident swimmer
Desirable: Some knowledge of ABA, interest in psychology
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Guaranteed minimum 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with a 7.30am start and no later than 6.30pm finish

Nathan is a happy and good-natured 9-year-old who loves spending time outdoors; especially if this involves swings and theme parks - yes, he is a thrill seeker! He has a 7 year old brother called Aaron who is a very chatty, sociable and as his parents described into everything. Nathan is autistic, non-verbal and presents with some sensory difficulties. He is toilet trained but will need prompting throughout the day.

From age 3 Nathan has followed an intensive ABA programme; this is something the family are now looking to reduce slightly.

This is an exciting position that brings lots of variety. For two days you will attend school with Nathan and act as his 1:1 support. During the rest of the week there will be a mix of sole and shared charge. You will receive training from the ABA Consultant and have the opportunity to observe sessions as well as working alongside other therapists and implementing strategies into daily routines. There will also be typical nanny duties including meal preparation and at times you’ll support both children.

This job will suit someone who can be adaptable in their approach and is happy to learn and try new strategies to continue Nathan’s development. Someone who has an interest in psychology would be well received, but most important is being able to form a strong connection with children. The family love to travel throughout the year and will be looking for the nanny to accompany them wherever possible; all expenses paid.

This is an amazing opportunity to join a supportive family who can provide you with lots of training opportunities and travel perks.
