Job Title:  Weekend SEN Support Worker
Location: Oxford, OX2
Nearest Tube or Train Station: Oxford Parkway
Wage / Salary: £13.50 gross per hour
Driver required? Yes
Use of a car? Yes, on duty only (Automatic)
Essential Experience: Working with children with complex needs
Start Date: ASAP                                             
Days and Hours: Alternate Saturday and Sunday 10.00 am to 6.00 pm. The family would also consider someone working every weekend if this was preferred.

Christopher, 12 is a bright, strong and sociable boy who loves swimming, riding and outdoor activities. Christopher has cerebral palsy affecting all 4 limbs and is non-verbal. He receives home-based education and therapy activities during the week.

Christopher leads conversations via eye pointing and an eye gaze computer system. A key part of your role will involve playing with Christopher and coming up with fun and stimulating activities, he loves being outside and particularly enjoys music. He needs assistance to be able to use his hands for play and uses supportive equipment for his posture. You will also support Christopher with his feeding and personal care.

This role will suit someone who is patient, fun and has good experience supporting children with similar needs to Christopher and are sensitive to the privacy needs of the family. 

This is a fantastic learning opportunity for someone who is motivated to develop their skills and gain further knowledge of all aspects of therapy and teaching as this position comes with excellent in-house training.
