CMSUK Awards 2021

How the pandemic has changed case management practice.
The CMSUK Awards was an online event this year due to COVID. While of course, it would have been lovely to see everyone face to face, the organisers created a great atmosphere of fun and celebration.
The CMSUK Awards are in recognition of the fantastic work case managers, their companies and employees do. I was delighted to be asked to be a judge this year. My category was the Case Manager Supporter Award; individuals whose work and support are essential for a case manager to do their job.
It was incredibly difficult to choose between the finalists the standard was so high. Reading through their entries highlighted just how wide-ranging the work is of a case manager and their support teams. The examples we heard about in all the categories, demonstrated how creative, committed and hard-working individuals and case management companies have been during the pandemic.
We also heard of innovative ways of working that had been introduced as a result of the COVID situation, but that would remain as they were found to be so beneficial.
Many congratulations to the finalists and of course the winners!
Clinical Case Manager of the Year – Amie Grant, Corporé
Catastrophic Case Manager of the Year – Dr Joanna Fletcher-Smith, Unite Professionals
Case Management Supporter of the Year – Matthew Redmond, The Treatment Network
Case Management Company of the Year – Stokes Case Management

Sally Britton started Snap Care in 2001 and continues to manage the business on a day to day basis.
My interest in the area of disability started from a very personal viewpoint; my step-daughter Camilla has cerebral palsy. She was our motivation to start Snap Care and continues to be my personal benchmark for the quality of candidates we work with. As MD of Snap Care, I see the vital role support workers play in our clients’ lives, providing more than just the basic care needs to maximise each child or client’s opportunities.
