A little about me...
"I am a calm, caring individual who enjoys working with children of all ages. Working in a variety of settings has enabled me to gain the necessary skills needed to work in challenging situations and environments. Working with special needs children is extremely rewarding; my intention is to pursue a career working in an educational and therapeutic environment. I am well motivated, reliable and always take pride in my work. Although I work well in a team, I am confident and capable of working independently, using my initiative as and when required.

I attend a gym on a regular basis as I like to keep fit, taking part in activities such as Yoga, Zumba and swimming. I also enjoy singing, dancing and socialising with friends. Education is very important to me, therefore I like to read and I am always willing to learn new things. In my spare time I partake in voluntary work for the church such as feeding the homeless and youth counselling."

Rebecca has extensive experience working with children and young people with SEN and disabilities in a variety of settings and roles including a support worker in a hospice, a SEN nanny and carer in a private family home, a LSA in a SEN school and as a Sonrise therapist for a private family. Rebecca has worked with babies, children and young people and has excellent experience including working with individuals with Acquired Brain Injury, physical disabilities, epilepsy, learning difficulties and autism. She is competent with personal care, administration of medication, use of Makaton and also has mainstream nannying experience.

Rebecca has a BA in Education and Early Childhood Studies. She is currently studying an Occupational Therapy course which she will complete in 2020.

Rebecca comes across as a warm, bubbly, confident and nurturing candidate; it is always a pleasure to interview her! Rebecca has previously been placed with a Snap family where she supported a 6 year old boy with an acquired brain injury from birth. She was heavily involved in all his therapy sessions. Rebecca has also worked closely with children who have Cerebral Palsy, epilepsy and autism. She is confident supporting children with tonic clonic seizures and has a great understanding of the dynamics of working within a family home.
